big al writes about michelle obama’s decision to be a stay-at-home mom in, Is Michelle Obama “Letting Down the Team”?

i was wondering if anyone who painted michelle into the antichristette would step forward and acknowledge what by all appearances at this point are some pretty darn good mothering and wife-ing skills.

thanks, al, that was unexpected. and welcome. and well said. you could have left out the subtle dig about it possibly being a public relations stunt, but your blog is always available in the future to recant the things you wish you hadn’t written…

i hope to read in your next column about the pragmatic choices michelle’s husband is making as he puts together his leadership team. as expected – well, as i expected, anyway; some of you might have some 1 john 1:9 work to do… :) – he is a surround-yourself-with-good-people-who-will-give-you-all-sides-of-an-issue-so-that-you-can-make-the-best-decision person. exactly what a president should be. exactly what we need right now.

heck, if we could spend our bailout money to buy more politicians like him, our screwed up election process might just prove to be workable…

  1. So now we are to take at face value the actions of a politician and his wife, both of whom wield equivocations like Zorro with a sword?

Yet, it is quite obvious that Mohler believes Michelle is sincere, his “resonable doubt” is in no way unreasonable.

This is especially humorous coming from you, the “provacteur extraordinaire,” that is so adept at calling into question the sincerity of others. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. :)

  2. “provacteur extraordinaire” – hey, i like it. i might start using it instead of ’spud tooley’ as my anonymous moniker…

of course, ‘wield equivocations like Zorro with a sword’ certainly makes you … what … the ‘hypriest of hyperbole’? :)

but do i really call the sincerity of others into question? hmmmm – i thought i’d been very forthright in saying how everyone seemed quite sincerely stupid, as a matter of fact.

thanks for the comment. opposing views are always welcome. even digs at the blog owner – i can laugh at me with the best of them…

  3. Like I’ve said over at JT’s blog, while I probably disagree with you most of the time, you in no way offend me. I actually find most of your comments amusing, as I appreciate a healthy dose of irreverence from time to time. I’d even bet if we lived in the same town we would be friends. You’d be Erasmus to my Luther. How’s that for hyperbole? :)

On a somewhat different note (assuming you don’t mind going off topic), I was doing a little exploring on your site and I was somewhat intrigued by some of your political views. From what I’ve gathered you would claim to be a moderate, but is this even an accurate label? At times you almost sound libertarian. At other times more liberal. The reason I bring this up is because I think it’d be fun to talk politics with you. I enjoy talking politics with people who can think outside the Republican/Democrat box.

For the sake of disclosure I’m a libertarian leaning conservative. To put it succintly, Ron Paul is the man!

  4. Well Mike, maybe she is…and then again, maybe she isn’t.
Who’s to know in this day an age of image over substance.
    I’d say give it time.

  5. Hey Mike, thanks for the comment. I find JT’s blog very helpful most of the time, but I’m frustrated with his political posts which attract the democrat bashers. I’d just love to see more critical reflection on conservative politics AS WELL as liberal politics, since the kingdom of God refuses to be associated with either.

  6. Hi, I saw your comment at JT’s blog and I thought I would check yours out. I am curious why you do not capitalize your sentences. It makes your site very hard to read.
